We Must Demand Better

Last week the Majority Leader of the United States Senate, Mitch McConnell, said that President Obama “should’ve kept his mouth shut,” and that he was “classless” in speaking out.
President Trump tweeted that Mitt Romney, a United States Senator, former Governor of Massachusetts, and former Republican presidential nominee, was a “LOSER!”.
Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, called President Trump, “morbidly obese,” knowing it would bother him.
This is the behavior of the three people holding the most powerful elected offices in the United States of America.
As a people we must condemn such behavior.
As citizens, we must recognize the insidious affect it has on our democracy.
As a Nation, we deserve and must demand better.
