From the homes of U.S. Presidents John Adams and John Quincy Adams, to the granite quarries of West Quincy, the shipyards, the beaches and 27 miles of coastline, its tree-lined side streets, and its thriving business community, Senator Keenan is proud to represent a city so rich in history and home to over 101,000 residents. Quincy
Senator Keenan proudly represents the Norfolk and Plymouth District of the Massachusetts State Senate. This district includes the City of Quincy and towns of Abington, Braintree, Hanover, Holbrook, and Rockland.

Senator Keenan represents roughly one-third of Braintree’s 36,000 residents. Braintree is home to beautiful, friendly neighborhoods, and a bustling business community, including the South Shore Plaza. It is conveniently located off I-93 with excellent public transportation options, and is rich with history. Senator Keenan often meets residents for office hours at the Braintree Council on Aging and the Thayer Public Library.
Braintree
Hanover, the newest addition to Senator Keenan’s district following the Legislature’s 2022 redistricting, is home to about 14,000 residents. Though one of the district’s smaller communities, it has a rich history—once a shipbuilding center in the 18th century, including the construction of the ship that inspired the Old Spice logo. Today, Hanover continues its legacy of skilled craftsmanship as the home of South Shore Vocational Technical High School. Senator Keenan often meets residents for office hours at the Council on Aging and John Curtis Free Library.
Hanover
Rockland is home to 17,500 residents and offers a welcoming place to live, work, and raise a family. Once a major supplier of boots and shoes to the Union Army, its historic buildings now house local artists, entrepreneurs, and small businesses. The town hosts vibrant events that reflect strong community engagement and the Union Street District features small businesses, key municipal buildings, cultural landmarks, and parks. Residents and visitors enjoy recreation at the Town Forest, McCarthy Farm, along the Rail Trail, Veterans Memorial Stadium, and Spring Street Ball Fields. Senator Keenan often meets residents at the Robert J. Nyman Senior Center and Memorial Library.
Rockland
Home to more than 11,000 residents, the Town of Holbrook is known for its strong sense of community and scenic spaces such as the Holbrook Town Forest and Lake Holbrook. Senator Keenan has worked closely with students from Holbrook Middle-High School on local policy, including initiatives aimed at preventing youth tobacco use. He regularly holds office hours at Town Hall and visits the HCAM (Holbrook Community Access and Media) studio at the Middle-High School for interviews on what is happening on Beacon Hill.
Holbrook
Abington is known for its quiet, but important role in the U.S. Civil War, specifically in shaping the abolitionist movement. The new Abington High School was named a National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education for its work in closing achievement gaps and proudly home to the Green Wave athletics. Abington has about 16,000 residents and Senator Keenan often hosts office hours at the Council on Aging and Public Library.
